Have you ever hit a wall doing something that, on paper, should be simple? Something everyone else seems to do with ease—but for you, it feels like trying to breathe underwater?
If so… you’re not alone, and this week’s podcast episode is absolutely for you.
Because recently, in the middle of something as ordinary as recording a podcast, God stopped me in my tracks and showed me something about myself—something He’s probably been trying to show me for years.
And friend… it might be something He wants to show you too.
The Moment Everything Felt Off
I sat down to record Episode 7 with the “perfect” outline. The right structure. The consistent rhythm. All the things the world says you must do to be successful.
But every time I hit record, it felt wrong. Forced. Heavy.
Delete. Try again. Delete. Sigh.
You know that feeling where you’re doing everything “right,” but your spirit feels completely out of alignment?
That was me.
Finally, after more attempts than I want to admit, I just stopped. Walked away from the mic. Let the frustration go.
I didn’t know it yet, but God was preparing to hold up a mirror—and what He showed me hit deep.
A Holy-Spirit Nudge in the Kitchen
Hours later, while baking cookies (because God loves to show up in the ordinary), I felt Him whisper something straight to my heart:
“You couldn’t record because that message wasn’t yours. You were trying to show up the world’s way—not My way.”
Oof.
It was one of those moments that makes your heart drop and your eyes open at the same time.
It wasn’t that I was being lazy.
Or inconsistent.
Or avoiding the work.
It was simply this:
I wasn’t being who God created me to be.
And every time I’ve tried to force myself into someone else’s formula, template, or expectation… I’ve hit that same resistance.
Maybe you’ve been there too.
Designed on Purpose—Not by Accident
For most of my life, I’ve had a streak of “holy rebellion.” Not rebellion for the sake of drama, but a deep resistance to anything that isn’t aligned with truth or calling.
And for years, I thought this was a flaw.
Now?
I realize it’s part of my wiring.
God didn’t create us to be carbon copies of what the world says “works.”
He created each of us with a very particular voice, rhythm, personality, and purpose.
And when we ignore that design… everything feels like friction.
In the episode, I share the exact moment I realized this—and how it’s shaped the way I approach my work, my voice, and even this podcast.
What If Your Resistance Is a Clue?
If you’ve ever:
- dreaded posting on social media
- felt suffocated by someone else’s strategy
- struggled to “be consistent” in a way that drains your soul
- wondered why you can’t just do it like everyone else…
I want you to hear this:
Maybe it’s not a problem.
Maybe it’s guidance.
Your design reveals your assignment.
You weren’t meant to fit someone else’s mold.
You were meant to follow the path God handcrafted just for you.
The Verse That Anchors It All
Ephesians 2:10 says we are God’s masterpiece—created with intention, purpose, and good works already prepared in advance for us.
A masterpiece isn’t mass-produced.
It isn’t generic.
It isn’t a template.
It’s one of a kind.
Just like you.
In the episode, I break down how this verse has shaped my calling… and why it matters for yours.
A Question for Your Heart Today
Where are you trying to show up the world’s way instead of God’s way?
Where are you forcing yourself into a mold He never asked you to enter?
Sit with that.
Let God speak to it.
If This Hit Your Spirit…
Then you need to hear the full story—the cookie-baking moment, the revelation, the shift, and the freedom that followed.
